I really can't believe that we are only a day away from being 6 months along! Holy cow! It seems like yesterday Chris was putting needles in my back and I wanted to rip his face off. I am so glad those days are over and gone (for now, until we have the next baby).
So at 6 months, I think this is where we start looking into birthing classes, how to change a diaper, how to teach the Daddy to get up all night long to let the Mommy sleep, am I right?? Does that take place about now?? What about registering at the hospital, is it like school? Oh heavens, a pediatrician! I need to find one don't I! Ugh, I am already a bad Mom!!
I am sending out an SOS!! Who will hold my hand and guide me thru this!
LOL you are so cute! So the only class we took was the birthing one..like Lamaze. Its actually good to take as they teach you some things to help with labor like placing ice in your palm during contractions, breathing, relaxation, poses that help to relieve pain and pressure. Plus its REALLY good for dads as they get to see HOW to help YOU when you are ready to rip off moniters and needles and rush out of the hospital...and then they find the epidural man. LOL. Breastfeeding isnt worth taking...they teach it to ya in the hospital anyway and come on...its not like its THAT hard. My nurse said "pinch it like a taco and put it his mouth" so there ya go! LOL.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Peds go..Miss may know of some outside IHC that are good. We honestly didnt get one until about 3 weeks before Ryan was born and I LOVE ours. She was a referral from my OB/GYN so they might have some tips for ya as well.
Other than that, your good. I didnt "pack a bag" until about week 37-38 when I wanted to die. (Trust me you will KNOW when you are ready to have that baby boy!)
Best of luck my dear!!! Love ya! :)
You are too cute!! I love the belly!! So cute!! Anyhoo, stop worrying yourself! You are doing great! I didn't do ANY birthing classes! They didn't seem necessary for me. I knew I wanted an epidural & I am NOT trying to pretend otherwise! Even with my second baby my epidural didn't work at all until I was ready to push (so telling Chad to "DONT TOUCH ME OR TALK TO ME DURING CONTRACTIONS" sufficed). I also just started to do the deep breathing I had seen during all of the movies where there is child birth involved!! hahaha (OH geez I can only imagine what the "nazi prepared pregnant ladies" are thinking of me right now!)
ReplyDeleteI also didn't pack a bag until 2 weeks before I delivered, I figured if I go into labor without a bag, I could send Chad to the store with a long list of things I'd need! That wasn't necessary since I was induced into labor with both my kids, I was prepared & was able to "get pretty" before hand.
I also had pediatricians that I wanted, but while I was in the hospital I just had the on-call pediatrician take care of my kids, then made my appt. for the 2 day check with the doc I chose!
See no need to worry, everything will work out on their own! Just enjoy your pregnancy & don't stress all those little nitty picky things "everyone" tells you, you "have" to do!!
Love you, pregnant lady!!! ENJOY IT!!!
Wow! I can't believe how far along you are already! I didn't take any classes either and we all survived.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your insurance? We don't have IHC insurance so we go to the Mountain View Clinic (the one by the PV Frontrunner station)and see Jason Church. I really like him. I've had all the kids going to him for three years now and he's always been great.
How are you surviving in this heat? I remember last year right now, I was SO miserable! I feel much better this year! :)
You are to funny :) For starters, I didn't take any classes - even with having Stetson on my own. I did take the epidural though lol :) The best advice I have ever gotten is push like you have to pee, don't push like you have to poop lol. I didn't preregister at the hospital with either kid, but had plenty of time to fill out paperwork while in labor when I got there. I didn't pick a pediatrician before going - I ended up with Dr. Church on call like Kellie & although he is technically the kids pediatrician, I prefer his assistant Zane for scheduling their wellness visits. I have IHC insurance and they do accept it :) As for the overnight bag - I didn't pack one - I sent Casey home to get things I needed after Wyatt came. I wasn't worried about looking marvelous, all I cared about was being comfortable so I just asked for the basic showering needs, the picture outfit for Wyatt, & the biggest jammie pants I had for coming home in :) All in all, things really do work themselves out, whether you're prepared or not so don't stress :) *Hugs*
